WTF? Whack The Floor is happening soon and it's another chance for bboys in Sarawak to battle it out to see who will reign supreme. The 2 main categories which are solo battles and 2 v 2's. It's an event not to be missed with all the top crews and bboys in Kuching competing. Expect heated and intense battles to happen!

The 5 levels you need to hit if you want to have a dynamic set, even if you're not executing powermoves. Know The Ledge: The Origin

This week's 'Know The Ledge' features the first part of 'The Freshest Kids' which is a DVD that explores the origin and history of Bboying and Hip Hop. Hear from the legends of the art about when it first started from Crazy Legs, Mr.Wiggles, Pop Master Fable, Ken Swift, Spy and many more. Recognize that the father of Hip Hop is DJ Kool Herc.

You can view the whole DVD which has 10 parts in youtube through the related videos at the side. Bboying has come a long way since the 1970's and people should realize that it's not a trend.

It's an expression, a lifestyle, a culture and it's here to stay.

1st Belia Modern Dance Competition 2010

In conjunction with 'Perhimpunan Belia 2010', a dance competition will be held which includes dance styles such as Modern Dance, Street Dance, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Breakdance or Bboying for breakers who are in the know.

The event will be held regionally at first including Kuching, Sibu, and Miri. Groups will get a chance to enter the Grand Finale in Kuching and compete in an International dance competition that will be announced during the event.

Groups are given 5 minutes to perform their choreography with a minimum of 5 dancers and a maximum of 12 dancers in one group. The entrance fee will be RM 20 per group and the entry form must be submitted by the 10th of June 2010 to january@pd.jaring.my

Don't Sweat The Technique: Movement

'Don't Sweat The Technique' is our next weekly section where we will share content such as videos or written posts about techniques, tips and tricks that will help bboys and bgirls step their game up in terms of moves.

On this week's 'Don't Sweat The Technique' features a short clip of another living legend, Poe One of Style Elements teaching about movement and being sharp during a workshop in Australia called Bboy Bootcamp 2009. It's one of the least looked upon aspect in breaking in terms of the local scene. Once you give it a thought, it"ll improve the overall aspect of your game. After you get some new moves or new steps, sharpen it up!

Lightning Crew of Kapit are organizing a 3 vs 3 crew battle on 5th of June 2010.

Registration fee: RM 30 for each crew

Tickets to enter to watch the event will be priced at RM 5 each.
